I was intrigued when I first heard this quote,

“We make our own luck.”

Though I initially debated it, I've come to see the wisdom it holds.

Let’s explore how this quote can guide us in creating the community impact we strive for. We'll discover four essential ways to shape our community’s luck.

1. Our Vision and Thoughts:

The seeds of change start in our minds. As the saying goes, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." Our thoughts are like a compass, steering the course of our community's progress. By nurturing them, we lay down the foundation for impactful changes that ripple out to benefit our community.

2. Our Words of Influence:

"The tongue has the power of life and death..." This ancient adage resonates powerfully for community leaders. Our words hold immense sway over the narrative we create for our community. Words that echo optimism, empathy, and aspiration set the tone for fostering an environment conducive to growth and change.

3. Our Action-Oriented Leadership:

"The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance..." Every move we make as community leaders has an effect on our community. Our dedication, meticulous planning, and consistent efforts are the strong beams supporting a lasting change. The act of turning intentions into strategic actions brings us closer to making the impact we want.

4. Our Community Allies:

"Walk with the wise and become wise..." In the realm of community leadership, working together and forming partnerships is essential. We are not in this alone! The individuals we choose to have around us – fellow leaders, advisors, team members, and community members – have a profound effect on the results we achieve. Their insights and perspectives help us make well-rounded choices. Their connections also open up doors for even more significant impact.
